Grab your conductor’s hat and get ready for an exciting weekend filled with trains, tracks, and terrific memories! The Annual Train Show at the Museum at Campbell River is back, and it promises to be bigger and better than ever before. This family-friendly event, hosted at the Museum with the North Island Model Railroaders, will take place on Saturday, February 1 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm and Sunday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
Admission is $7 per person or $20 for a family. Children aged 5 and under are free.
For over 30 years, the North Island Model Railroaders have been captivating audiences with their intricate display of model trains. Among the founding members is Tony Van Bergen, whose passion for trains has spanned a lifetime. Utilizing interlocking modules, their train layout consists of meticulously crafted scenes that surround the tracks. This set-up not only makes it portable but also allows them to travel to different shows, sharing their love for the hobby with enthusiasts all around.
With so many facets to model railroads, visitors of all ages will be captivated by the intricate details and animated displays. From the historical recreations to the modern landscapes, there will be an abundance of visual delights to explore.
Whether you’re a seasoned model train enthusiast or someone who simply appreciates detailed craftsmanship, this event is not to be missed. The Annual Train Show at the Museum at Campbell River is the perfect opportunity to experience the magic of model trains up close and personal.
It's open 12-5pm Saturday and 12-4pm Sunday and everyone is welcome.
