Thursday-Sunday, May 11th-14th, it’s the Comox Valley Int’l Film Festival at The Sid Williams Theatre in Courtenay.

Dedicated to discovering & supporting independent film & media artists from around the world, the festival features work in 4 categories: International Feature film, International Short film, Canadian Short film & Vancouver Island Short film. There’ll also be various workshops in filmmaking for participants.

Scripts are; BC Short - Gymnastics by Nikki Buziak, International Short - A long Road Ahead by, Bernhard Riedhammer and International Feature - Walking In Iowa by Alex Murawski. Starts at 6:30pm.

Filmmaker’s Panel & Screening
Before the feature length film Gringa by BC’s own Marny Eng and E.J. Foerster, Join us for a lively discussion with a panel of experts as they discuss the art of filmmaking. From 6:30-7:30pm, Screening begins at 8pm. Panel to include: Michael Bruce Adams (Screenwriter), Fred Thorsen (Editor), Janet Kidder (Actor), Patric Caird (Composer) Ruby J. Munro (Director), Terry Ingram (Director). Party at Pizza Guerrilla on 5th street to follow.
