December 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, and the Comox Valley Transition Society is holding a Vigil on the plaza of the Comox Valley Art Gallery.
It marks the day on December 6th, 1989 when a man murdered 14 young women at Polytechnique Montréal. Community members are invited to gather for speakers, songs, lighting remembrance candles, and the traditional laying of roses. It’s all to honor women, whose lives have been lost due to gender-based violence. It’s from 12- 1 p.m., for more information, visit Comox Valley Art Gallery.
