As in years past, North and Central Vancouver Island RCMP detachments and units are continuing to support the Vancouver Island Wounded Warriors Run.
Wounded Warriors is a non-profit charitable organization created by 2 service members eager to do something to help in reaction to a rash of suicides in the Canadian armed forces.
The organization offers programming to Military Veterans, First Responders, and their families to help them feel safe, supported and understood.
The run is one of the Wounded Warriors' main fundraising events every year and the RCMP says it is an amazing way to reach out and show support to the communities that first responders and military personnel serve in.
Members of the Campbell River RCMP and North Island detachment of the BC Highway Patrol are part of this year's 10th annual run convoy as it proceeds south to Victoria.
They began running Sunday, made their way through Campbell River and will be in Comox and Port Alberni today.
