The Campbell River & North Island Transition Society is again hosting 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence.
Every year, from November 25th (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10th (World Human Rights Day), Canadians observe the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
It is an opportunity to come together to call out, speak up and renew the commitment to end gender-based violence, while reflecting what we can do in our classrooms, communities and lives to eliminate the disproportionate violence faced by women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals.
Each day of the campaign has a call to action for residents to learn more about what they can do to improve the situation; today, for example, gender based violence in the workforce.
Tomorrow, highlighting a national youth awareness campaign, created to increase awareness of GBV and ultimately shift behaviors and actions to create a safer space for everyone.
