19 Wing Air Force Beach Campground is putting new procedures in place to ensure the campground sewage system does not exceed its capacity.

Effective immediately, the SaniDump facility located adjacent to the campground office is restricted to authorized users of the campground and Department of Defence Team members only.

In a release, 19 Wing says the decision was not made lightly, and many factors and discussions took place.

The village of Cumberland announced earlier this month that it was closing the RV Sani Station on Dunsmuir Avenue on April 8th.

That comes following concerns about increased loading on the Village’s wastewater treatment system, which is currently out of compliance with provincial requirements.

The plant is being upgraded to comply with the existing permit and meet future regulatory requirements along with the expected community growth.
