It was a big night Saturday for a local group which offers financial assistance to local families who are facing a health crisis.

100.7 The Raven helped out with ‘Boots & Bling’, a country western ball fundraiser at Quinsam Hall in Campbell River, on Saturday night.

The event raised $80,000 for Cameryn’s Cause for Kids Society.

They’re a non-profit created to honour the life of Cameryn Harris who passed away in 2003, at age three from a brain tumour.

The group provides financial assistance to families when they have a child facing a health crisis, helping with expenses such as travel costs, special medications and equipment. They also cover funeral expenses in the event of a child’s death.

To date, the group has dispersed more than $350,000.00 to more than 350 local families in crisis.

All of their funds are raised through fundraising efforts and donated by businesses and individuals in the community.
