An aggressive cougar sighting has closed a Campbell River recreation site.
The Amor Lake Recreation Site was closed last week for all day-use and overnight camping until further notice.
Officials say an aggressive cougar is in the area and the recreation site is currently unsafe for public use. Use of the boat launch for accessing the lake is still permitted, however users are cautioned to use the launch at their own risk, practice situational awareness at all times, and minimize exposure time on site.
They were planning on revisiting re-opening this week.
