Another earthquake struck this morning off Vancouver Island.

The 4.6 magnitude quake hit 42 kms east of Sidney this morning at 5:02am.

The quake occurred near Orcas Island, Washington, which is between Vancouver and Seattle and just south of B.C.'s Southern Gulf Islands.

Earthquakes Canada says it was lightly felt in and around Victoria and Vancouver.

There were no reports of damage, and a public alert was not issued because the magnitude and intensity were below thresholds at which harm might be expected.

There was also no tsunami threat issued.
