Another missing person report was called in about an hour later, of an overdue traveler that was driving to Bamfield from Port Alberni and had not arrived.

The individual's dog had been located earlier in the afternoon by good Samaritans who contacted their family.

The family of one of the missing notified police that they had located their loved one's truck fully submerged in the river.

The missing driver was later located deceased a short distance away.

The second vehicle was then located by search and rescue personnel.

RCMP are urging people to stay away from the area of Sarita River as water is flowing fast.
