It is a big weekend for softball at the Lewis Park Ball Fields in Courtenay this weekend.

The Rotary Club of Comox Valley and Habitat for Humanity are hosting BatFest. The event  aims to bring the community together and fundraise for Habitat for Humanity – North Island and the Rotary Club of Comox Valley’s local improvement projects, and other initiatives.

Softball teams from across the region are competing in various divisions with the first pitch set to go this afternoon at 430pm with the Heroes Match between Courtenay RCMP and Courtenay Fire.

Tomorrow, 100.7 The Raven will have a team on the field to take on Jet FM in the Battle of the Airwaves.

There will also be a beer garden and concession stand open for  players and spectators, giveaways, prizes and 50/50 raffles.

For more information, visit BatFest.
