Attorney General David Eby now has some competition in the race
Anjali Appadurai says she's running for the leadership with a focus on addressing the climate crisis, health care and deaths from toxic drugs, housing affordability and the rising cost of living.
Appadurai ran unsuccessfully in the federal election in Vancouver last fall. She is the director of campaigns for an organization called the Climate Emergency Unit. Premier John Horgan announced his intention to step down as party leader and premier in June.
Up until this week, Eby was the only candidate on the ballot. The deadline for candidates to enter the race is set for October 4th, with voting for a new leader starting on November 13th and a decision expected in December.
