Customers will be limited to no more than three of any individual items of liquor, except for beer
It has been confirmed by government officials that all customers, including bars, pubs, restaurants and the public, will be limited to no more than three of any individual items of liquor, except for beer.
Alcoholic beverages that come in 4 packs or higher will be counted as one product. As long as the distribution centres operated by the Liquor Distribution Branch do not resume operations, there will be rationing.
Members of the BC General Employees Union have been on strike since August 15th and have recently been joined on the picket lines by many teachers, nurses and hospital union members.
As of now, the BCGEU strike has been confined to picketing warehouses used by the Liquor Distribution Branch, but pressure is mounting with the BC restaurant industry’s warning that its alcohol stocks are running low. The BCGEU is looking to be recognized for their contributions as well as the rising inflation rates.
