The City of Campbell River and Strathcona Regional District are making plans for Emergency Preparedness week.

The City is inviting the public to Wildfire Community Preparedness Day at Robert Ostler Park - on Saturday, May 3rd from 11 am to 4 pm.

The event aims to raise awareness and share information with residents on actions that can be taken to reduce wildfire risks and make homes, the community, and surrounding areas safer.

The City’s FireSmart Coordinator will be at the event, alongside members of the Strathcona Regional District, BC Wildfire Service, and local Emergency Support Services.

You can find more information at City of Campbell River.

Emergency Preparedness Week runs from May 4th to 10th.

It’s a national awareness initiative and an opportunity for people to ensure they’re prepared to protect themselves, their families, and their community during an emergency.

This year, the SRD is offering community free first aid certification courses to provide residents in the regional district with the knowledge and skills in order to better offer immediate care to someone who is injured or ill.

Additionally, a Disaster Preparedness Expo will be hosted on Quadra Island.

The SRD calls it a fun way to build community resilience and get families better prepared for a disaster.

The following table provides a list of Emergency Preparedness Week 2025 events.
