The City of Campbell River Fire Department is hosting an open house tomorrow.
It’s the first time they’ve been able to open their doors for the annual event since before the pandemic and Chief Dan Verdun says they’re looking forward to it.
He says the open house is a rare opportunity to see inside the fire station and learn about the many services the Fire Department provides.
The open house runs tomorrow from 10am to 2pm.
The City says there will be something for everyone, with tower truck rides, fire hose practice, information displays, firefighters on hand to answer questions, hydraulic rescue tools and equipment on display, fire safety house tours, and more.
Firefighters will also do a live demonstration of a vehicle rescue and high-angle rope rescue.
The City says residents can expect to hear more about the fire service in the coming months as the Department looks to resume more regular engagement with the community about the team, their work, and the wide range of services they provide.
