The City of Campbell River Airport (YBL) is developing a five-year strategic plan and is seeking input from the community.

Two engagement sessions will be held to enable as many residents as possible to participate.

  • Monday, September 23rd, 630pm to 830pm.
  • Thursday, October 3rd, 630pm to 830m.

Both sessions will take place at the Campbell River Community Centre.

Mayor Kermit Dahl says streamlining operations at the airport was one of the reasons he ran for Council.

He says the five-year strategic plan will guide the future of the Campbell River Airport for years to come and it is important that they hear from residents and consider their vision when finalizing the document.

At the info sessions, participants will be guided through themed discussions to collect community input, including how the airport can better serve residents, businesses, and visitors; and how the airport and the land around it can contribute to Campbell River’s economy.

The 2024-2029 Strategic Plan builds on the foundation laid by the 2016 Master Plan and updates goals and objectives for the Campbell River Airport.

Airport Manager Dennis Brodie says it’s important they incorporate the community’s ideas in the finalized draft plan and is encouraging everyone to make it out.

The feedback collected at the engagement sessions will be presented, along with recommended edits to the draft strategic plan, for Council’s consideration in November.
