It's the oldest organized sport in the continent, with its origins with the indigenous people of North America as early as the 12th century and Thursday, October 27th, the Campbell River Minor Lacrosse Association is holding its AGM & awards night.
Mark Labowka, Vice President of the CRMLA, says it's a great local sports league, perfect for kids in the community.
They’re looking for volunteers to fill many positions, from social media people to floor allocators to even president of the association, so Labowka hopes that community members attend tonight to get involved.
If you have kids interested in playing, they’ll be raffling off a free registration for each division, 6 in total.
The community is encouraged to attend the meeting, which starts at 7pm in the Dogwood Room of Strathcona Gardens.
