Campbell River RCMP are investigating after a reported attempted abduction of a teenager yesterday.

The incident happened around 10am Thursday on Holm Road in the Willow Point area.

Police are looking for a newer model white Mercedes cargo van with no side windows and no other markings.

Plates were not obtained on the vehicle, but it was described as having a dirty lower area of the van.

Police say the driver tried to lure the young person into the van - thankfully, a passerby stepped in and the driver took off.

RCMP kept a presence in the area yesterday, going door-to-door, talking with residents.

If anyone has video footage of a van in the area around that time, dashcam footage, or sees a vehicle matching that description, you are asked to call Campbell River RCMP.
