Utility work begins today along the Island Highway at 6th Avenue, near the Maritime Heritage Centre.
Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, through next Wednesday.
North and southbound traffic will be accommodated at peak times, and alternating single-lane traffic flow will be in place as needed. The City says minor delays of between five and 10 minutes may occur and are asking motorists to use alternative routes where possible. Also today, a partial road closure on Willis Road, from Carolyn Road to Highway 19, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Work will continue for approximately six weeks. The closure is for the construction of a multi-use pathway on Willis Road - crews will be removing brush and trees along that stretch. During construction, single-lane traffic will be in effect, and minor delays may occur. Local traffic access will be available.
