Stage 1 Watering Restrictions come into effect in Campbell River this week.

The City says starting Thursday, May 1st, watering restrictions come into effect to maintain enough water for firefighting and other essential services during the summer months, when there is a jump in demand.

Residential lawn watering is permitted for even-numbered addresses on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 5 to 9 a.m. and 7 to 10 p.m.

Those in odd-numbered addresses can water on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5 to 9 a.m. and 7 to 10 p.m.

Non-residential lawn watering, and where watering of common areas is controlled by a central system or strata and not by individual units or residents, is permitted as follows:

  • Even-numbered addresses on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 1 to 8 a.m.
  • Odd-numbered addresses on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 1 to 8 a.m.

Watering gardens, trees and shrubs by hand is permitted at any time.

For more information, visit City of Campbell River, email water.wise@campbellriver.ca or call the water hotline at 250-203-2316.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
