Courtenay Recreation is hosting the Gnarly Little Christmas Craft Fair at the Florence Filberg Centre tomorrow from 9:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m.

Every year the craft fair showcases talented youth aged 9-19 years. Over 60 vendors will be selling their wares, including baking, art, crafts, fibre arts, jewelry, woodwork and more.

The fair will be held in the upstairs Conference Hall at the Florence Filberg Centre.

Across the parking lot, at the Lower Native Sons Hall, it’s their annual Children’s Christmas Party from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m for children 9 and under, accompanied by an adult.

Admission to both the craft fair and party is free with a non-perishable donation to the food bank.

Also, Saturday night, the River City Cycle Club hosts its 9th annual Christmas Light Bike Ride in Willow Point.

The group will ride a loop of the Rotary Seawalk to Hidden Harbour and return to So Cal restaurant for socializing afterwards.

The ride begins at 6pm, it’s free to take part & everyone’s welcome.

And Saturday & Sunday, check out the River City Christmas market, at the Campbell River Community Centre.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
