Today’s the day to have coffee with a dispatcher!

The Campbell River and the North Island Operational Communication Centre based out of Courtenay/Comox is looking for people interested in becoming a dispatcher - or just want to know more about the world of RCMP 911 dispatching.

The Island Grind Coffee Shop at the Discovery Harbour Shopping Centre will be hosting "Coffee with a Dispatcher,” today.

Jaclyn Tremblett, a recruiter with the Island's 911 Police Dispatch team will be on hand to answer questions for anyone interested in the work, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
