The community is being reminded of construction starting Monday night as part of the City of Courtenay’s Comox Road Sewer Project.

The Highway 19A Bypass will be closed nightly, at Comox Road, between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. through to Thursday morning.

Crews are working to complete connections at the intersection of the bypass and Comox Road.

The detour route will use 5th Street onto Highway 19A in front of Lewis Park and Lewis Centre. There will be no access to Comox Road from the Bypass.

Work will see the aging sewer pipe that crosses the Courtenay River replaced with construction set to be complete by November.
