Comox Valley Airport (YQQ) has announced a new partnership with #NotInMyCity, a national movement dedicated to preventing and ending human trafficking in Canada.

YQQ aims to raise awareness, educate airport staff and passengers, and strengthen efforts to combat human trafficking within the aviation sector.

Airport CEO Mike Atkins says the partnership allows them to take meaningful action in the fight against human trafficking by increasing awareness and providing their team with the tools to recognize and respond to potential risks.

“We are proud to stand alongside this important initiative and contribute to a safer community," he said.

The Airport says it recognizes its responsibility to support initiatives that protect vulnerable individuals and enhance public safety.

Through the partnership, YQQ will implement an awareness campaign and staff training program to help identify and prevent human trafficking.

"On behalf of #NotInMyCity and our existing airport partners, I want to extend a warm welcome to Comox Valley Airport," says Paul Brandt, Founder of #NotInMyCity.

"As our network of partners committed to identifying and preventing human trafficking grows, we become stronger in our nationwide fight to end the crime of human trafficking and exploitation in Canada."
