Comox Valley RCMP arrested a suspect after a fire inside Walmart on night of Thursday, October 10, 2024.
Shoppers and staff inside the store were evacuated around 930pm while the fire in the menswear area was quickly extinguished.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Investigators at the scene were able to identify a suspect who was taken into custody.
“We are looking to speak with any witnesses who were at Walmart, or may have been in the area at the time the fire occurred.” Said Constable Monika Terragni, Media Relations Officer, Comox Valley RCMP.
The suspect will remain in custody pending a court appearance.
