Police are investigating after a suspect caused significant damage to a vehicle earlier this week.

On Tuesday night, around 10pm, a woman was camping in her vehicle along Comox Lake Road, between the Village of Cumberland and Comox Lake, when an unknown vehicle pulled in front of hers.

An unknown man exited that vehicle with an axe and struck the windshield of the victim’s vehicle before returning to his vehicle and leaving toward Comox Lake.

The suspect was 5’7 to 5’8 tall with a medium build. He was wearing a white baseball hat with no visible logo and a white bandana just below his eyes covering his face.

The vehicle was a four door, medium sized, dark coloured sedan with no front license plate.

Investigators are aware that there were several vehicles and campers parked near her location along Comox Lake Road.

Police are asking any potential witnesses to this event, or individuals who may have had a similar occurrence contact the Comox Valley RCMP Detachment at 250-338-1321.
