The Comox Valley Regional District Board has approved several projects for the province’s Growing Communities Grant Funds.
“This is an exciting step forward for a number of major projects within the CVRD,” explains Electoral Areas Services Committee Chair, Richard Hardy.
“These funds were based on specific program requirements supporting board priorities. We are thrilled to see these investments built into the growth of the Comox Valley and the value they bring towards community development.”
The primary objective of the funds is to help communities build infrastructure and amenities necessary to support growing communities.
Among the projects receiving funds:
- Denman Island Fire Hall Replacement Project (2025) $850,000
- Mount Washington Fire Hall Project (2023) $600,000

- Goose Spit Trail (2024) $90,000
- Seal Bay Nature Park (2025/2026) $120,000
There is approximately $1,617,000 remaining in Growing Communities funding, which will be allocated after a board strategic planning session in mid-June.
