The Comox Valley Regional District is updating the Comox Valley Agricultural Plan to reflect the current issues and opportunities in agricultural production and help strengthen and grow the local agri-food sector.
Alana Mullaly, the General Manager of Planning and Development says if you are a farmer in the Comox Valley, an agri-food business owner, a farm worker, or someone keen to get into the sector, they want to hear from you.
Engagement sessions are taking place on May 10 and May 17 that will explore key issues facing the agricultural sector.
Both sessions will take place at the Merville Hall, and will cover, among other things, how existing CVRD planning tools reflect agricultural priorities and participants will discuss how they can be used to benefit the agriculture sector.
There will also be sessions on emergency preparedness and response for agriculture, how the watershed factors in, and a discussion on the elements of success for healthy agricultural businesses.
Registration is recommended but walks-ins are welcome. For more information and details on registration visit Comox Valley Regional District.
