A section of Lazo Road is being closed starting next week.

The Lazo Road closure - from Brent Road to Guthrie Road - is set to begin on Monday and last through to October 16th, as part of construction on the Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project.

Work will begin at the corner of Brent Road and Lazo Road. During construction through the intersection, Brent Road will remain closed. The CVRD is urging drivers to continue to use the Curtis Road detour.

Once construction is complete through the intersection, Brent Road will re-open to traffic.

Construction will continue along Lazo Road, moving towards Guthrie Road, estimated to begin Thursday, August 29th, ending on approximately October 16.

Two -way traffic will not be possible in the construction zone. During this time the Knight Road detour will be in place (MAP 1).

Traffic Control Personnel will be positioned to help guide traffic to detour routes and aid in turning vehicles around as needed.

At the end of each construction working day, the open excavation sections will be fully fenced with temporary steel fencing and all other traffic control devices will be in place.

Commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and to anticipate additional travel time during the closure period.
