Councilor Gwyn Sproule Being Honoured Today

A special council meeting happens this afternoon to honour councilor Gwyn Sproule.

A special council meeting happens this afternoon to honour councilor Gwyn Sproule.

The meeting is to confer Freedom of the Village upon Sproule, in recognition of the outstanding services provided by her to the community and to the Council of the Village of Cumberland.

Sproule was elected to Cumberland Council in November 2002 and is currently serving her sixth term of office as councilor.

Serving on several boards over the years, Sproule is currently Cumberland’s representative to the Comox Valley Regional District Hospital District and Waste Management Boards.

She is a founding member of the Comox Valley Land Trust and the Cumberland Community Forest Society.

Today's meeting begins at 4pm and the public is invited to attend.
