Courtenay Recreation is hosting a dog swim on Saturday, the last event of the season before the Courtenay Outdoor Pool at Lewis Park closes for the winter.

The event runs from 11am to 1pm.  Admission is $5, with all proceeds donated to the local SPCA. Proof of rabies vaccination is required for each dog.

The big pool will be open for dogs of all shapes and sizes. The wading pool remains closed for maintenance and will not be available. Dogs must be friendly to attend. And a note to humans - only dogs will be allowed in the pool during the swim.

The staff from Van Isle Veterinary Clinic will be on site to support the safety of all furry swimmers, and Woofy’s Pet Foods will have pet-friendly giveaways.

For more information call Courtenay Recreation’s Lewis Centre at 250 338-5371 or visit City of Courtenay.
