The Village of Cumberland says works crews are set to begin cold patching potholes - as resources and weather allow.
In a release, the Village says snow and rain cause damage to the roads each year, and freezing and thawing can cause pavement to fail, especially on some of our older streets where there is no gravel road base.
For now, because of the shifting temperatures, crews are limited to using temporary cold patches until hot asphalt repairs are possible in the spring and summer.
Drivers are being asked to use caution and drive with care.
The Village notes that annual road and utility reconstruction projects are prioritized based on the condition of sewer and water lines under the road, as well as the condition of the road base.
Projects are funded in the five year financial plan.
