The Comox Valley Regional District has announced a partnership with the Comox Valley Community Foundation to provide funding for social services and initiatives within the region.
“This partnership marks a small but important step forward in supporting socially beneficial services and programs within the Comox Valley,” explains CVRD Board Chair Will Cole-Hamilton.
“There are many non-profit community-based organizations that directly support the social wellbeing and resiliency of our communities. This new regional granting program will provide funding to assist with building, maintaining, and strengthening this critical work.”
A total of $30,000 in funding will be provided to the CVCF to administer through their Community Enrichment Grants Program, which provides grants annually toward areas of considerable need in the Comox Valley.
Eligible community organizations, including registered charities and non-profit societies, are encouraged to apply.
Funding will be used to support projects that support and enhance mental health and connection, food security and food systems, as well as equity, diversity and inclusion.
The program was approved at a meeting in January, enabling a three-year funding agreement between the CVRD and the Comox Valley Community Foundation.
Applications are received annually by the CVCF between August and September.
