Last week, the Comox Valley Regional District hosted a World Water Day event at its new water treatment facility.
The event was attended by a Grade 6/7 class from Ecole Robb Road School, as well as 50 other Comox Valley residents.
World Water Day celebrates water and raises awareness about access to safe drinking water globally.
Participants had the opportunity to take a tour of the new facility and learn about the CVRD's water treatment process. This new facility manages safe drinking water for more than 50,000 residents of the Comox Valley.
In addition to the facility tour, a large group of attendees took a historic walk of the surrounding Bevan Trails to connect with the natural environment and learn about the history of the Comox Lake Watershed.
For those interested in the next tour opportunity (likely in the Fall of 2023), please call 250-334-6056 to be added to the list.
