We are almost a week away from the Big Truck Parade in Campbell River and the City’s Downtown BIA is hoping residents will help Deck the Downtown.

The BIA Big Truck Parade kicks off the festivities next Friday night (Nov. 29). Following the parade you will find the Illuminated Angels strolling through Downtown, with live music in Spirit Square, and lots of entertainment, food and shopping.

Special promotions will be happening on Saturday the 30th Downtown, with a Christmas Market in Spirit Square, live music in Downtown restaurants, and the Festival of Trees at the Campbell River Museum.

Sunday will feature a PANCAKE BREAKFAST at the Eagle's Hall, the Global Fair-Trade Market at the Community Centre Downtown and the Festival Brass: Merry Mischief show at the Tidemark Theatre.

If you’re having family and friends in from out of town, the BIA says it has announced partnerships with 9 local hotels and motels to offer discounts on the weekend:

  • Above Tide Motel
  • Anchor Inn & Suites
  • Campbell River Lodge
  • Coast Discovery Inn
  • Comfort Inn & Suites
  • Driftwood by the Sea
  • Oyster Bay Resort
  • Passage View Motel
  • Ramada Inn

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
