The Downtown Courtenay Business Improvement Association wants to hear from businesses on how to make the downtown even better.
The Association is currently reviewing its bylaw to update its service levels, tax rates, fees, and operating boundary.
The group says it is feeling pinched by the restraints of its current finances as the city continues to grow.
They provide a wide range of services for members, including marketing services, events, downtown beautification, security, and external advocacy for their members.
In a release, the DCBIA says it has operated with the same annual budget since its inception in 1995, $60,000, which is collected from member businesses through property taxes.
They are now looking at increasing their budget and want feedback from Downtown and nearby business and property owners.
They're being asked to complete a short survey to help modernize and make improvements.
