A drop-in this afternoon in Cumberland Council Chambers for residents to go over the Village’s Climate Action Plan.
It runs from 430pm to 730pm.
A few highlights from the proposed actions include:
- Set 2050 as target to achieve net zero GHG emissions.
- Adopt the Zero Carbon Step Code to require new buildings to be more energy efficient
- Support retrofits of existing homes to clean energy use and better energy efficiency
- Add more public EV charging stations
- Complete a Drought Response Plan.
- Fire smart training for the community.
There will be another online session on Tuesday, May 7th, from 12pm to 1pm.
It would also complete a Drought Response Plan and offer up more Firesmart training for the community.
The proposed actions are also posted at Engage Comox Valley and open for comment until next Friday, May 10th.
