The Comox RCMP will be zipping through the Valley on new e-bikes.
In 2019, the Comox Valley RCMP added a bike unit to regular patrol.
In a release, Cst. Monika Terragni said having the officers ride bikes has provided them with increased mobility, agility, and accessibility, allowing them to navigate various terrains with ease.
She says the new e-bikes will offer the ability to accelerate quickly and maintain consistent speeds, empowering officers to respond quicker and more efficiently to emergencies.
The initiative is a pilot program with the potential for expansion.
