
Campbell River RCMP have released details after responding to a report of an individual in a Mental Health Crisis on Friday.
Police arrived on the scene about 230pm Friday - a person had barricaded themselves inside a residential unit.
RCMP then sought assistance from the Vancouver Island Emergency Response Team and Crisis Negotiators.
The standoff ended at approximately 7:45 pm Friday when the person gave themselves up to police without injury.
"The Campbell River RCMP would like to thank the public for their patience during the enhanced police presence on Alpine Road.", said Constable Maury Tyre.
"We would also like to thank the members from ERT and the Negotiation Team, who were able to bring the situation to a peaceful conclusion."
