The Coastal Fire Centre says fall-like conditions, widespread rain and a decreased fire danger rating gets the credit as Category 2 and 3 open fire prohibitions have been lifted.
The ban was lifted at 12pm, Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
That means things like fireworks, skylanters, binary exploding targets, burn barrels, burn cages and air curtain burners are now permitted.
In a post on X, BC Wildfire Service said while the fire danger rating risk has declined on the coast, the public is asked to use caution with open fire use and to ensure burning is done in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with regulations.
Before lighting any fire, BC Wildfire says to ensure to check with local government restrictions that may remain in place.
