There is a fundraiser tonight for Comox Valley Search and Rescue.
It’s been organized by Thierry Vrain - who got stranded while on a hike last month.
A team from Comox Valley Search and Rescue came to his aid, after he spent the night in the woods. He suffered some injuries during his ordeal but is doing better - and Vrain says he wants to pay it forward.
Comox Valley SAR is currently fundraising for a new home for the crew - needing $1.5-million for the project. They’ve raised about $600 thousand so far.
The event - with entertainment and lots of fun, fundraising activities - goes tonight at the Innisfree Botanic Gardens starting at 5pm.
It will include a 90-minute talk and demonstration by Search and Rescue to learn how to avoid a similar painful and life-threatening experience.
