Several big prizes are up for grabs as part of a fundraiser for the Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society.
The Mission of MARS is to conserve and protect native wildlife and its natural habitat through education and rehabilitation.
Each year the wildlife hospital cares for more than 1000 native wildlife patients with the aim of releasing them back to the wild.
As of July 31st st there were 125 patients in care with 90 having been admitted within that month.
Money from raffle ticket sales will help purchase much needed food and medicine for the animals as well as help to repair and maintain patient housing.
Prizes include three nights at the Wickaninnish Inn in Tofino, donated by the Inn and valued at $2350; A half hour helicopter ride for two courtesy of 49 North Helicopters, valued at $1000; Two nights at the Old House Hotel, donated by the Hotel and valued at $800; Limited Edition framed print by Owen Gromme, valued at $500.
The draw date is Tuesday, September 3rd.
You can purchase tickets either online from the MARS website or by visiting the MARS Visitor Centre located at 1331 Williams Beach Road in Merville, Friday to Sunday from 10am to 3pm.
Tickets are 1 for $10, 4 for $20, 20 for $50 and 100 for $100.
