Group Calling For Overdose Prevention To Be In High School Curriculum

A group that teaches students how to recognize an overdose is calling on the province to include overdose prevention in the high school curriculum.

A group that teaches students how to recognize an overdose is calling on the province to include overdose prevention in the high school curriculum.

NaloxHome founder Chloe Goodison says she was inspired to get into the field of health sciences after witnessing a teenager collapse in Vancouver five years ago.

She says the teen recovered after being administered naloxone.

Since then, Goodison says she and her group have made presentations to about 2000 secondary students.

The Ministry of Education says it is up to individual schools and districts to decide whether to offer programs
