It’s a ceremony a while in the making.
Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North is “officially” handing over the keys to a home in Campbell River, more than a couple months after the new homeowners actually moved in.
A key ceremony is an opportunity to recognize the homeowner's family, volunteers, donors, and community sponsors who made this possible - and bad weather in December delayed the ceremony for Sean Babchuk and his two sons.
They’re holding the ceremony today instead.
Habitat VIN is currently completing the construction of a 12-unit project on Piercy Avenue in Courtenay and planning for another build on Hilchey Road in Campbell River.
