Halloween In Campbell River And The Comox Valley

Monday, October 31, 2022 at 7:54 AM

By Jay Herrington

It is Halloween - and there's lots to do in Campbell River and the Valley in addition to tonight's trick or treating.

The Campbell River Community Centre is hosting families for various games, activities and prizes. It runs from 5pm to 7pm and admission is free.

The annual Courtenay Halloween Parade and Party runs from 3pm to 5pm downtown and at the Lewis Centre. The event is put on by Courteny Recreation and the Downtown Courtenay Business Improvement Association. The event is for those 11 years and younger - lots of activities there as well.

And for a haunting good time, you can head out to the LINC Youth Centre on Old Island Highway for a haunted house 430pm to 730pm - billed as an experience for younger children and easily frightened adults.

As always, if you're travelling later this afternoon and this evening, watch for the little ones out trick or treating, drive with caution and make sure your full headlight system is on.

Don't forget to check your kids treat bag when they get in, specifically to make sure no colourfully packaged cannabis products were accidentally handed out.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
