Today is a big day for Homalco First Nation, owners of 100.7 The Raven.

The Nation is launching a graphic novel this morning based on sacred recordings of Homalco First Nation Elders.

Xwémalhkwu Hero Stories: A Graphic Novel, emerged from recordings of Homalco Elders from the early 90's, since produced into a mini podcast series by the Raven.

The novel's three illustrated stories depict historic moments of Coast Salish history.

Copies will be available for members with details on broader distribution still being worked on.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
