Students at North Island College will soon be able to apply for hundreds of awards to help support them through their studies.

Beginning March 1, 2025, the NIC Foundation will begin taking applications for scholarships, bursaries and other financial awards. The deadline to apply is midnight on April 30.

Current, future or graduating students can apply using a single application form to be considered for any of the more than 500 awards.

Every year, because of the generous support of people in communities around the north Island, the NIC Foundation helps hundreds of students.

“We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our donors,” said Melanie Nagy, executive director of the NIC Foundation.

“Their generosity makes a significant impact on the lives of NIC students. Each award not only lightens the financial load but also empowers students to pursue their academic and career goals.”

Last year, according to the NIC Foundation’s annual Impact Report, the value of the awards program was $796,675.

The foundation was able to distribute 583 individual awards, including 30 Indigenous-focused awards.

More information about how to apply, including a complete list of all awards and their criteria, eligibility, timelines, preparation, the notification process and other frequently asked questions can be found at North Island College Foundation.
