ICBC is warning the public about an ongoing scam targeting residents.

Scammers have been sending texts, purportedly from ICBC, warning of outstanding payments, and the threat of license suspension or court action.

If you receive a suspicious message, you are advised to ignore or delete it as it is likely a scam.

ICBC notes they never contact customers via text about outstanding debt or driving infractions and will never ask for payment in a text message.

Keeping Our Word

The word "éy7á7juuthem" means “Language of our People” and is the ancestral tongue of the Homalco, Tla’amin, Klahoose and K’ómoks First Nations, with dialectic differences in each community.

It is pronounced "eye-ya-jooth-hem."
