By Jay Herrington

BC Highway Patrol officers removed 19 impaired drivers from Vancouver Island roads during New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

BC Highway Patrol made sure that 19 impaired drivers were taken off the roads on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Through a combination of check stops and roving patrols all over the Island, BC Highway Patrol officers issued 19 impaired driving prohibitions ranging from 24 hours to 90 days.

The officer in Charge of BC Highway Patrol Vancouver Island, Inspector, Adam Tallboy, says officers and other first responders, gave up time with friends and family to ensure that everyone was safe and says he’s grateful there were no injuries.

No matter what you did in the past, Insp. Tallboy encourages everyone to resolve in 2025 to make good choices about driving sober and staying safe on the roads.
