Man Arrested After Report Of Suspicious Person With Rifle In Campbell River

Campbell River RCMP are investigating after an incident Monday morning on We Wai Kai First Nations property near the Quinsam Shell.

Around 6am Monday, police responded to a report of a suspicious male packing a case with what appeared to be a rifle in it and entered a nearby residence.

Police arrived and seized a shotgun and ammunition. A 46 year old man who was known to police was arrested on scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
